When it comes to copyediting, I follow the Chicago Manual of Style. However, I recognize that every author may prefer a different style. I will adjust to the style rules that you prefer.

When it comes to line and developmental editing, my goal isn't to have you rewrite your manuscript into the story I would've written. My goal is only to help guide you into elevating your story and empowering your voice as an author.
All edits are 100% in the author's control.

Copy
This service is best for mature and finished manuscripts. If you have already finished your revisions/rewrites based on prior developmental/line editing, this may be the best service for you. Copyediting occurs before the layout and involves correcting grammatical and spelling errors and checking for small inconsistences.
Line
A line edit focuses on the creative content, style, and language used at the sentence and paragraph level. Working line-by-line, edits will be suggested to tighten up sentences, making the language sharp and clear.

*This service isn't the same as copyediting. However, both can be combined in a multi-round editing package.*
"1st" Chapter Critique
This critique is a developmental edit that focuses on a smaller section of your manuscript. This section could be the first chapter, the last, or anywhere in between.

*Flat rate for the first 5000 words.
Developmental
This is an in-depth process of editing that focuses on the bigger picture of your manuscript, not on the grammar. (Are there plot holes, characters that fall flat, unrealistic dialogue, etc.? Are there sections where the readability suffers or the pace lags?)
After reading your manuscript, you will receive an evaluation of your manuscript, focusing on the manuscript’s strengths and weaknesses.
Manuscript Evaluation
A manuscript evaluation (also known as an editorial assessment or manuscript critique) is a similar service to a developmental edit. However, it is more affordable for the on-a-budget author.
Proofreading
Similar to copyediting, this service is to look for cosmetic errors after the layout. Have you already gone through the rounds of developmental editing and copyediting, made your final revisions, and formatted your work for print? Proofreading is the service for you!
